happy [late] october

i'm not gonna change the design monthly anymore. i can't find the ones i used on vox and there aren't any pretty ones for halloween or even autumn. so i decided i'll change it seasonally. starting in winter. because this one is so darn cute. xD

so i haven't written in a while. school. we're halfway done with the semester [already?!] so midterms and papers are slowly coming up. i hate this time of the semester. i like the beginning when everything was just introductory and you were still getting a feel for the class. before you know it, you're in the middle of the semester with so many things due in one week! i hate how teachers assign you stuff like their's is the only class you're taking. ugh.

on a happier note, it's been raining like crazy all week. and i LOVE it!! except for the GIANT crack of thunder we had around 4pm yesterday. the lightning was bright enough to make it look like a camera flash in the classroom and then not 2 seconds later, the thunder happens. most everyone in my class screamed.

i also bought my red panda kigurumi last night! it should come right before halloween!! =] i'm excited.

also, the plans for our masquerade party are going well. we had to change venues since miyako was stupid and just was too expensive for what they were offering. we're talking with the holiday inn right now and for around the same price we get hor d'oeuvres and can have the room up to 6 hours. i also bought a dress already! haha my mom was going to make one but then we found a really pretty one so she bought it for me. ^____^ i just gotta find a mask now.

tonight i have so much to do. or so it seems like to me at least. such a busy today tomorrow, especially since i have to leave campus and go to the beach for our freaking lab field trip. it's going to be cold! it's already cold and now we're going to the beach! ugh.

i'm going to be so drained by tomorrow night. let's see if i survive.

new blog, again!

so...poor vox got shut down.

this is the SECOND blog i've started and kept up with [after xanga] that got shut down. i started one a few years ago on a site called uber [i think]. that got closed not long after either.

hopefully this typepad thing stays around for a while. at least none of my old posts got deleted. i would've been so mad.

so it's september, a new month. typepad has SOME of the same designs, but i don't think they have as many. i'll have to see how customizable this site is [yes george, it's a word. if not, i just made it one]. so i was looking through the designs and found this ADORABLE design. it's SO CUTE. it doesn't really scream september but eh. my profile picture still matches. also! the profile picture is so freaking tiny, you can hardly see it.

i just got through my first week of school, too. i survived! but the first week is like barely putting your feet in the water. the second week it's like you go up to your knees and you get a feel for waves. the third week you're in even deeper, to a point where you can't run away quickly because you're too far in [it's like not being able to freely drop a class]. by the fourth week, you're getting splashed with the water around the waist [getting hit with quizzes, maybe tests, and real work]. from there you try to maintain the water level by not getting too far in. when you start struggling is when you're trying to keep your head above the water.

...hahahaha that wasn't half bad for an analogy. it applies to me at least. my head usually is in and out of the water, especially when i'm having trouble with those good for nothing papers.

so tonight i was SUPPOSED to go out with george and go to color me mine. i was so excited and ready to pick out my piece of clay art and get painting. but nooo. i can't anymore because i have to go to a stupid dinner with my work. -___-

maybe we can go in the daytime on saturday? if you're awake and willing.

today i turned 21!!!

i'm finally 21!! but it's not like i was waiting to turn 21. it's just that 21 seems to be kind of a big deal.

i had a little party/get together on saturday. i rented a party bus and we cruised on down to diamond plaza. yeah, nothing fancy. i just wanted the party bus. xD
the people who came dressed up a little and we danced in traffic [as dan put it] all the way. it was SO fun. i like it when music is louder than what i usually have in my car. but not in my room because it's not surround sound. so anything that gives me surround sound dancing music is fantastic.

i wore my new, white, lacey dress i bought at liz lisa in japan. i was hoping to find a dress in japan and when i saw it, i had to try it on. aiko was with me and she approved so i splurged a little and got myself the dress. =]
all the ladies looked hot and the boys looked nice. i totally wanna get a party bus again in the future.

at diamond plaza we took some pictures then went to separate eating places. we joined up and took some purikura at cue. lily and dan took their first purikura together and it was funny watching them try to decorate it. we had a few hours but it went by kinda quickly after eating and before we knew it, it was time to board the bus and dance back to carson.

people were a little bit more mellow on the way back. maybe because the driver took back the alcohol. but at one point, nearly everyone got up and started jumping/dancing near the back and i was so scared that the driver would notice and tell us to stop. xD
we got back right at 9pm and the driver went away. we loitered in the parking lot for about 30 mins maybe, taking more pictures, jump starting alberto's car, and deciding what to do next. by default, we went to kelly's house for the after party. we ordered pizza and watched disney's hercules.

at the end it was only me, mike, mark, cookie and favio. we spent a good while trying to figure out what gods/goddesses were shown in hercules. then we veered off into so many topics, one including the wilhelm scream where mark said something and had me and kelly doubled over from laughter.
they eventually left and i waited until it was light to go back home. i left kelly's around 6:45am i think. got home and knocked out.

it was an awesome party. thank you to everyone who came [even though most don't even know about this blog].

today, on my actual birthday, i woke up early after only a few hours of sleep and went to work. i made sure to look cute. my desk was decorated with birthday banners, a balloon and sprinkled with confetti. mari gave me some earrings she made. they're so cool. later i got a strawberry shortcake cake from my coworkers.

i want to do something tonight, but don't know what yet. i just don't want to go home.

going to JAPAN!!!

i am leaving to japan tomorrow! i'm going for about 10 days.

i kinda wrote about it already in my last entry but eh, what the hell. can never be too excited about going to japan! ^______^
i remembered something else i had to buy besides gackt's cd. makeup. especially this one brand's blush. the one i got a couple years ago finally broke and i can't take it anywhere. so i want a new one.
that, and kigurumis. ahaha my mom is not going to be happy when she sees how much space those are going to take up in the suitcase. i'm buying 3. maybe 4 if cathy ever responds. hehe...yeah~ i know those things are exactly the most compact things either. xD
and i'm going to be buying a few clothing items on top of that. maybe a pair of shoes. gosh. i have to pack as lightly as possible. bring simple, thin clothes and just buy whatever else there. and god is it gonna be hot. ick.

disneyland with mari was so much fun! we took pictures with characters. we took a picture with tink, silvermist and terrance for the first time. i didn't even know they had a terrance. we also got mickey and pooh, tigger, and eeyore. we also watched the street party parade and the fireworks. my feet and legs were dying and i was so tired driving home.

yesterday was chill and today was another busy day at work. tonight will be filled with packing and running up and down the stairs with clothes. i gotta do my nails too. ahhh. i'm going to japan! =] i'll TRY to update at least one entry while i'm at the sendai hotel since that's the only time i think i'll have internet access. i wish my mom's phone had an international plan. anyways, that's it. bye!

edit: oh yeah, happy august! and so i changed the background. it's still a beachy picture even though i'm not going to the beach anymore. but the color and image is just so calming to me. i would've put something japan related but they're either all fall related or too dark.

this entry is a lot more happy and positive than the last one.

this week i've been feeling happier and very excited for a couple things. mostly because i realized i'm going to japan next week. in about 5 days!!! i'm so excited to do a ton of shopping. hopefully the heat won't kill me. i have a couple definite things i have to buy. one is gackt's semi-recent album. it came out late last year i think. there's a more recent one that came out within the month i think, but that's another collection of singles and i have most, if not all of them, since they've been on past albums. if i have the money [and i find them] i also still want to buy Mars and Rebirth. those are the only other two albums of his that i don't have. and his first mini-album, mizerable, but i can kinda do without that for now.
the other things i want are general clothes, shoes and accessories so there's not one real set thing i'm going to be searching for.
i'm also excited to see aiko and hang out with her again. it'll kind of feel like we're just hanging out here again. except i'll be on her turf. she'll be showing me around instead. =] [and we'll get to take a ton of purikura for WAY CHEAPER that cue!!!]

i'm also really excited about going to disneyland this saturday with mari [my coworker]. it's not like she hasn't been there before or has been only a few times. she knows disneyland as much as i do. she used to have a pass and go practically every weekend. she also has a minnie-crazed friend. haha. anyways, yeah. she just turned 28 but is still so kid-like outside the office. she married but doesn't have kids. i think that's a big reason why she's still a kid. she's really fun and funny. yaaaaay! ^____^

i have to do the rest of my laundry and start planning what i want to bring to japan. it's gonna be SO HOT! @__@
i also need sleep. i was up until 4 last night because i painted my nails like minnie mouse! haha xD ok. i think that's it for now. bye!

vent/rant/boredom

i just wanna type something but i have no real direction with this entry.

school has been bugging me. i'm in summer and school is stressing me out. i don't like it. i'm not looking forward to taking this one class. i have no choice if that's my major and if i just want to get it over with and graduate with some kind of degree, keeping my asian studies major is the fastest way since i'm partly done with it since the japanese classes i took count towards it. but i'm not gonna take it quietly. i will cry and bitch about it probably the whole semester. and george, you're gonna have to be there for me.

i went to target yesterday and bought myself a curtain. haha yeah, just one panel. i have this big, black piece of material hanging over my bed and then going down to make a wall between the foot of my bed and the door. i wanted something black and pretty, but the cheapest ones were all way too sheer so i spent about $20 for it. i have some sheer pink material i got awhile back intending to make actual curtains so maybe i can layer it to make it pretty. the curtain i got is white with black chandelier and lace designs. i wanna change up my room just a little bit. i can't move anything around but i can change certain things. i should also change up my gackt poster/calendars. i got one for christmas but haven't put it up because i barely put up the previous one about 6 months before christmas and i didn't want to take it down yet.

tonight i'm going out for dinner with my work. yakiniku. the one place i do not mind going. ever. i'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

also, i think it's pretty set that i'm going to disneyland with mari [my coworker] on the 31st. hopefully nothing big comes up that gets in the way.

well i guess that's it. that was fast. oh well. bye!

Post-AX

Anime Expo has come and gone. and they're already telling us we can register for next year!!!

really?? give me a break! it just ended! and they're saying i have until thursday if i want to register for $45 for next year. i'm really tempted since AX does have a refund policy and if anything were to come up, i can just cancel it and get a refund. then it goes up to $50 until november. and i'm thinking that's not too bad either. just $5 more. but that's how they get you.

i changed my design since it's now july. the color looks really similar to my last one but this has a girl in a bikini and it gives me this beachy vibe. and since we're planning a beach day right now, i think it fits.

AX was fun. our room was really spacious and everyone was chill with each other. the only thing i can gripe about is the dance. we didn't get to go night 1 but we went night 2 at club nokia and it wasn't that great. we had a guest from japan DJing so that was cool...except they seemed to play only hardcore [really fast beats] and how the hell do you dance to that?? and the set was like a concert. the DJs were on stage, the ppl in the front main tier were facing the stage, bopping and fist pumping. NOT dance-like at all. that was more like a concert. they'd play for 5mins, then stop and get everyone to cheer. do that every once in awhile but not after every song! totally ruined the flow. we were there for only 30 mins maybe then left.
the rest of the con was cool. half the time it seemed like me and kelly were helping amanda with some part of her cosplay. whether it be in the room getting her dressed or at the con, helping her carry her prop or fixing her wig.

me and kelly really want to cosplay as a group next year. i want to either cosplay or design something since there's more freedom with that. but we were stopped more than enough times for amanda that on the last day we stood in the back making faces at the camera. i'm sure some photographers weren't happy, but tough. now we wanna be in the damn pictures too. but we have NO clue what we can do.
my design idea more creative. we each get a signature color and wear similar outfits with different details. the best example i can think of is when me, kelly, and cathy each wore a white blouse, mostly black corset, black skirt, and boots. our blouses were slightly different, our skirts were different lengths/styles, and same with the shoes. the 3 of us together looked pretty good =D haha. i wanna do that again, but bigger.

i'm gonna stop now because i could go on and on with different topics right now and that would make this entry as long as the miyavi one. byee!
