first day of school

for me at least. the official day back was yesterday but i only have classes on tue, wed, thur.

and i'm only taking two classes. today i had my first class of ling 151 - intro to american sign language. the teacher himself is deaf and kind of mute i guess? it is amazing how someone like that can still be a teacher and teach a whole college course on a subject. it's definitely going to be different. definitely confusing at some times too. i hope i can make a friend in there so if/when we have to go out to events or something i'll have someone to go with/talk to.

i'm in the library starbucks right now waiting for this next class i have to go to. it's not my actual class, but i have to go to the first meeting to sign up for a time slot so i can facilitate for wgss 101 again. i hope i get the time slot i want.

my mom's birthday was last friday. after work, we went to eat at RA at del amo and then we watched Tangled. it was such a cute and funny movie. i wanna go see it with you, george. but there are less and less times everyday, so we have to hurry. we were supposed to go to disneyland the next day but couldn't because our new oven was going to be delivered. and guess what happened. in the morning, they call my mom saying it's postponed because the range we ordered is not in stock. hm...THEN WHY THE HELL DID YOU CALL THE NIGHT BEFORE TO SCHEDULE THE DELIVERY??? do they not have communication between their departments over there?? so by the time they called it was too late to go to disneyland anymore. so the three of us went to dinner at night and me and mommy are going to disneyland this coming saturday if nothing happens.

on sunday there was a little "surprise party" at amanda's for teressa and nathan. surprise party but not really. me and kelly bought some random snacks at the LT market while amanda took them out to walk around LT. george showed up after we got back and then we just waited for them. when we heard them we hid in amanda's room and me and kelly jumped out yelling "surprise!" and george followed by tripping over something and ruining his surprise. jun came about 20 mins after i think. and that was it really, haha. the rest couldn't show up so me and jun cooked/baked while the rest of them played this wii game. it was a chill and fun night.

happy new year!

it is 2011. also the year of the bunny.

well, i got to do what i wanted to new year's eve. i got to wear a pretty dress and party it up without freezing my butt off. we had a small, chill little party at kelly's house. really last minute so not many people came, but a decent amount to make it more party-ish. kelly made her soup and spanish tortilla. we had drinks and ice cream and snacks. right before midnight we poured out the apple cider and champagne [rather hastily, mind you since we didn't pay attention to the time], then we counted down and cheered all around. and of course, i got my new year's kiss. ♥

the following wednesday me, kelly, jun and george went to necropolis for "white out night". it was chill. we mostly stayed outside and took horrendous pictures of each other which we then proceeded to zoom in as far we could without it becoming blurry to see what disgusting thing we could find on each other's faces. oh yeah, that's what we do when we go to necropolis. party. xD [btw, i always want to type "necropolish"]

after that was finally time for Anime LA. everyone was waiting for that since pmx pretty much sucked. and it was SO much better. we got a room on the pool deck, RIGHT NEXT TO THE POOL. we literally could have ran out and jumped in since we were at the deep end. it was a fun con. no one we really wanted to avoid. instead there was someone we tried to annoy. xD saw a few friends and met a ton of new people whose names i don't think i remember. after the con we went on a search for ramen. we went to one place fairly close to the hotel only to find that it closes between lunch and dinner...darn japanese restaurants. so we drove down to gardena and went to shinsengumi. me and george figured out that you only come out smelling like oil if you go at dinner time because that's when they seem to fry a ton of things. the lunch menu was pretty light. i went to georgie's house after and we took a long nap.

now...i can't think of any major outings right now. i'm going to disneyland with my mommy on the 22nd for her birthday and amanda wants to throw a party for visiting friends the next day. any day in between i'm working. yay~

the masquerade ball...

was a total success!!!

quite a few people told us that it was more than what they were expecting and they enjoyed themselves and had fun! you don't know how happy that made me to hear that.

i had a lot of fun once it got started. up until then though, was a different story. we were rushing and setting things up completely last minute. but it turned out okay later. it took awhile for people to start dancing but once we did, it was so fun. my stupid mask made my face sweaty and my darn dress kept slipping down. i think i need a better bra. and some super strong tape to keep the dress up.

it's december!!!

and since i seem to only write one entry a month, my titles are going to announce the month xD

look at my design! isn't it cuuuute? it's so wintery and pretty ^___^ i'll keep it through january until february, where it'll turn PINK!

anyways. i meant to write this entry about a week ago, but got distracted then forgot about it. the semester is over today and i officially was done with finals on tuesday. i got an A in cardio and a B in marine biology. the other two classes haven't posted the grades yet. but i'm pretty sure i passed.

this semester was a pretty good one. the first half was alright, then after i dropped my asian studies class, it just seemed to get a little bit better. i really enjoyed my women's studies class and everyone in it. i'm going to miss our venting sessions and the random conversations we had before class started. especially from this one guy, cyrus, who was so funny with his sarcasm. i'm going to try and facilitate again next semester, hopefully i can get the class i want to facilitate.

so...there's only about a week and two days until our party. efffff~ (ﾟДﾟ) [that's my panicked face.] we still need to get vases and make the centerpieces. we need everyone to rsvp and pay. we're pretty much done with the music. i still can't believe we're doing this. this is insane. but i'm really excited. i'm kinda excited for the food xD i hope it's good. and i hope people dance.

tomorrow is mine and georgie's "us day" ♥. don't know what we're doing, but we're hanging out.

oh! last night i saw Tron: Legacy [midnight showing]!!! it was so cool. so pretty and futuristic looking. i kinda wanna watch it again. i'm pretty sure i caught everything, but it was cool so, yeahhh. xD

it's already november!

and i realized today there is only 3 weeks of classes left, then finals. oh my gosh. last time i really thought about it, it was in the middle of the semester. 3 weeks have already passed since then and the semester's almost done! this semester has really been flying by. i think it's the way my classes are arranged and whatnot. i don't know...i only know that each week doesn't really seem to drag. i guess each day is slightly different. even my MW or T TH classes aren't exactly the same.

georgie's birthday was on wednesday so on friday i took him out. i took him to the aquarium of the pacific in long beach. i went for a field trip on wednesday but it was cool enough to go again. i absolutely love the sea otters. if it were closer, i might buy an annual pass and just to go sit and watch the sea otters. they're always moving so it doesn't get boring. i think george enjoyed it. afterwards we were supposed to go to a restaurant for dinner but george wasn't feeling it so we saved that for another day and just went to fuddruckers. it was a nice day.

on saturday me and kelly went to pmx just to hang out. first regular con we go to that we didn't buy a badge OR get a room. so weird. it was in pasadena this year and felt really cramped. there were plenty of people [or so it seemed] so there was stuff to do and look at, but it wasn't much. we did the whole, badge-swap thing and i got to go into the exhibit hall just to look around. by the time we went to the artist's alley, the badge checker wasn't there so we just walked in. the artist's alley was so much better in my opinion. there's more things i would buy. and i did. xD there was this adorable star shaped necklace with RAINBOW SPRINKLES inside. i mean, how perfect is that?? i've made a personal quote of mine: "glitter and sprinkles make everything better!" so yeah. i had to have it. i'll be wearing it constantly for awhile.

a lot of people didn't buy badges or get a room. i wonder if pmx lost a little money this year, haha. everyone is waiting for ala now. that one is staying at the lax marriott and is a lot better. the outdoor pool area is half the hangout area. it's also kind of the "new year con" so everyone looks forward to that.

yesterday was a lazy day and at night i went to out to dinner with george and his parents for his birthday [so many birthday dinners!]. we went to woodranch and gosh, i always eat too much when i go there. the food is so good! and the portions are huge too.

as for the masquerade dance party, the venue is set, deposit is paid and people are slowly paying. we still need to get more decorations [as well as put them together], work on the music, and plan a date to see the room again. it's just about a month and a week away! i picked up my dress after alterations and found a mask. now to decide what to do with my hair.

oh! and they opened up another section for sign language. MAYBE i'll be able to actually take it this semester. after 3 years. but i don't want to get my hopes up. eh.

still got 2 weeks until i can register. hopefully the class doesn't get full. >_<

happy [late] october

i'm not gonna change the design monthly anymore. i can't find the ones i used on vox and there aren't any pretty ones for halloween or even autumn. so i decided i'll change it seasonally. starting in winter. because this one is so darn cute. xD

so i haven't written in a while. school. we're halfway done with the semester [already?!] so midterms and papers are slowly coming up. i hate this time of the semester. i like the beginning when everything was just introductory and you were still getting a feel for the class. before you know it, you're in the middle of the semester with so many things due in one week! i hate how teachers assign you stuff like their's is the only class you're taking. ugh.

on a happier note, it's been raining like crazy all week. and i LOVE it!! except for the GIANT crack of thunder we had around 4pm yesterday. the lightning was bright enough to make it look like a camera flash in the classroom and then not 2 seconds later, the thunder happens. most everyone in my class screamed.

i also bought my red panda kigurumi last night! it should come right before halloween!! =] i'm excited.

also, the plans for our masquerade party are going well. we had to change venues since miyako was stupid and just was too expensive for what they were offering. we're talking with the holiday inn right now and for around the same price we get hor d'oeuvres and can have the room up to 6 hours. i also bought a dress already! haha my mom was going to make one but then we found a really pretty one so she bought it for me. ^____^ i just gotta find a mask now.

tonight i have so much to do. or so it seems like to me at least. such a busy today tomorrow, especially since i have to leave campus and go to the beach for our freaking lab field trip. it's going to be cold! it's already cold and now we're going to the beach! ugh.

i'm going to be so drained by tomorrow night. let's see if i survive.

new blog, again!

so...poor vox got shut down.

this is the SECOND blog i've started and kept up with [after xanga] that got shut down. i started one a few years ago on a site called uber [i think]. that got closed not long after either.

hopefully this typepad thing stays around for a while. at least none of my old posts got deleted. i would've been so mad.

so it's september, a new month. typepad has SOME of the same designs, but i don't think they have as many. i'll have to see how customizable this site is [yes george, it's a word. if not, i just made it one]. so i was looking through the designs and found this ADORABLE design. it's SO CUTE. it doesn't really scream september but eh. my profile picture still matches. also! the profile picture is so freaking tiny, you can hardly see it.

i just got through my first week of school, too. i survived! but the first week is like barely putting your feet in the water. the second week it's like you go up to your knees and you get a feel for waves. the third week you're in even deeper, to a point where you can't run away quickly because you're too far in [it's like not being able to freely drop a class]. by the fourth week, you're getting splashed with the water around the waist [getting hit with quizzes, maybe tests, and real work]. from there you try to maintain the water level by not getting too far in. when you start struggling is when you're trying to keep your head above the water.

...hahahaha that wasn't half bad for an analogy. it applies to me at least. my head usually is in and out of the water, especially when i'm having trouble with those good for nothing papers.

so tonight i was SUPPOSED to go out with george and go to color me mine. i was so excited and ready to pick out my piece of clay art and get painting. but nooo. i can't anymore because i have to go to a stupid dinner with my work. -___-

maybe we can go in the daytime on saturday? if you're awake and willing.
